In the village of Long Whatton is this amazing black & white house!

Great pit stop for coffee and cake. No indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating round the back and covered seating with blankets and heaters round the front. Cake is TASTY!

Great Coffee

The church dates from the 13th century. Major restoration work was carried out in 1886.

The church is a Grade I Listed building. Major restoration took place in 1900. A plaque inside the church reads The nave, aisle and tower of this church were erected and the chancel and chancel aisle restored A.D.1900 by Henry Lord Belper in memory of his son William Strutt born Feb.8th. 1875, died Oct.5th 1898.

Nice friendly cafe with indoor (limited) and outside seating. Selection of light lunches and specialises in sausage rolls and cakes. Very nice coffee. Can lock bikes outside to metal railing.

I can confirm it gets pretty cloggy up the north end after prolonged rain.

The climb is a tough one for the area but the view from the top into the Vale is beautiful so well worth the effort!

Great cafe on the wharf

Long double track unsurfaced lane. Legally a restricted byway so good for anything up to a horse and carriage but no engines. There's a decent sized hill and from the ruts it looks like it gets pretty muddy in the winter but rock hard in June when I rode it.
