Punta del Este is located on a narrow peninsula on Uruguay's southern Atlantic coast. The seaside resort is located about 140 kilometers east of the capital Montevideo. Punta del Este nestles picturesquely on the coast of the Rio de la Plata. The proximity to the city and the fantastic landscape with paradisiacal sandy beaches and turquoise blue sea attracts the rich and beautiful of South America and is therefore considered the Saint-Tropez of Uruguay.
