The crossing of the Gede-Watamu road with Kanani Rd at Bluebay is somewhat the geographic center of Watamu, though the more popular areas are to the east and west of there; not much is going on a this crossroads itself.

Scenic vista of the iconic volcanic plug column standing in the valley. A trail leads down a gravel road to an Artisan market and further into the gorge.

A gravel road leads to the Artisan market. Right next are metalworkers workshops showing the ancient primitive but effective techniques of extracting ore and manufacturing metal tools and objects. Today here mostly for souvenirs and ornaments. A few steps south leaf to the steep edge of the gorge. A trail to descend down is further to the west.

Informal entrance connecting Kedong Ranch Wildlife Conservancy and Hell's Gate National Park. Note that Kedong is a private reserve with separate entrance fees and permission is required.

Half a kilometers east of the Ol'Njorowa Gorge and Ranger station the main road follows the valley as gravel toward the east at Elsa Gate, and paved toward the northwestern Olkaria Gate, while a paved road turns south to the Olkaria V Geothermal Power Station and the Buffalo's Circuit gravel loop to Kaparitan View (here signposted as Kaparitania).
