Small shop but has everything you could want. £1 card limit is a godsend when you forget to buy water. Believe there is an instant coffee machine if you need a warm up but plenty of sugar on sale!

Julian Bower is a great example of a well preserved turf maze with its sunken form demonstrating its great age. It is thought that the maze was cut by Spalding Priory before 1220. It is one of few surviving turf mazed believed to be from the medieval period.

Fonaby Top is one of Lincolnshire's highest points, at 141m it's no mountain, but still offers great views of the Wolds, and also the nearby Pelham's Tower, which rises above the treetops at 128ft tall.

Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre is homed in a converted former Methodist chapel. The cafe offers delicious cakes, afternoon tea, snacks and lunches, with a terrace to enjoy in good weather. Cyclists are welcomed. Upstairs you will discover local history displays and exhibitions in the gallery.

A really nice Cafe/Bar with great views across the Humber - usually open day and evenings (certainly weekends) but do check for other times. Good food, coffee, beer, guinness and cocktails on tap! Housed in the offical start of the Viking Way - an old coastguard building: https://barton-upon-humber.org.uk/heritage-attractions/the_coastguard_station/ The Coastguard service seems to have started in Barton around the mid-1850s and by the late 1860s the coastguard service in Barton was hat its peak. At its conception, the station was run by six men and an officer but this soon rose to eight with the demands of the work. The workers would offer protection for sailors travelling along the river, where conditions were proven to be very dangerous due the amount of trading vessels. Their day-to-day duties often included marking the channels in the Humber with buoys and collecting harbour duties. In more dramatic times, the men would perform rescues from wrecked ships and capture smugglers.

Old rope factory that is now a museum, it has a cafe as well. Worth a visit if you have time.

The Ropewalk was once a rope making factory, Hall’s Barton Ropery, dating back to between 1800 and 1803. The Grade II listed building, which stretches a quarter of a mile along the length of Barton Haven, now houses the The Ropewalk arts centre and Museum containing displays, artifacts and other memorabilia associated with the history of the factory and its workforce. It also has a great little cafe and is well worth a visit.
