Great food and drink stop. Blyton ice-cream just down the road plus the village shop if you need supplies.

Pretty old industrial bridge!

Nice RSPB reserve. Egrets, Hen Harriers and loads more. Friendly, helpful...and tea or coffee, crisps etc.

The road meets the River Ouse here at Whitgift with open views both east and west. Looking east, keep an eye out for the Whitgift Lighthouse, a grade II listed building. It has been guiding craft along the river since the 19th century.

Rawcliffe Bridge is a small hamlet adjacent to the Aire and Calder Navigation. From the vantage point of the bridge you can see along the length of the canal and the marina to the north east. To the south-west of the village is the Sugar Mill Ponds, which can be accessed down Stocks Drive. Until recently these two clay pits for the local brickworks were a waste site. Now it is a peaceful wildlife haven and a lovely place to stop and catch your breath.

Laughton Forest is a plantation that was created in the 1920's. It supports a diverse range of wildlife today.
