Lovely old church, nice place to take 5, before climbing up the hill.

This place is really in the middle of nowhere, it's at the junction of Thornhill Lane and Littleborough Road. It can't be missed because there's nutting else there. What makes it special is its unique six sided shape. Definitely a place of note and worth a photo.

Torksey Viaduct is closed. I was there on Friday 7th March 2025 and I ended up cycling south on A road to Dunham Bridge and back north to rejoin the route (Lincoln Gravel Imp). The viaduct may reopen in the future if a new leaseholder is found. Here is some info I found about the closure https://www.railwaypaths.org.uk/category/latest-news/

St Luke's Church, was built in the 15th century and has a Norman west tower with a Perpendicular bell stage and buttresses. The remaining parts of the church were rebuilt between 1770 and 1773.

With steps at one end you'll have to carry the bike but with no other way to cross the river for miles you may not have much choice

Travelling East, the Fossdyke Canal Trail begins (or ends if you're travelling West!) at Saxilby. This traffic free path follows what is most likely the oldest canal in England that is still in use, thought to have been built around 120AD by the Romans. The road is parallel to the trail on the opposite bank for a short distance before heading South-East to Skellingthorpe.

Not designed for bikes with thin gates but the bike can be turned vertical.

Once you've navigated along the winding footpath beside the river you'll have to climb a set of steep steps up to the viaduct in order to cross
