The Church of the Cross is the Protestant church of Großenritte. This late Gothic building was completed in 1512 and likely replaced an older Romanesque church, about which no precise information exists. The year can be seen above the now-walled-up south portal. Inside, there is a late Gothic baptismal font and a pulpit from 1644. Paintings from before 1600 still adorn the walls. Unfortunately, I found the church closed.

There is a good ice cream parlor nearby.

In the middle of the town in front of the town hall there are several places to sit and take a short break.

Elmarshausen Castle is beautifully situated in the Erpetal. From a distance, it is a real eye-catcher with its extensive group of buildings. Up close, you can see that the main castle building from the Renaissance period is not in the best condition. The outbuildings are managed and in order.
