This historic church, whose history dates back to the 12th century, is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, also known as the "Princes of the Apostles." Their feast day is celebrated on June 29th in all major denominations. Simon, nicknamed Peter (Rock), was a fisherman on the Sea of Galilee when he and his brother Andrew were called by Jesus Christ to be "fishers of men." In works of art, Peter is almost always depicted holding two keys, an attribute that refers to the biblical passage in Matthew: "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:19). Such a sentence was a "privilege" under Roman law at the time (a swift death, unlike other forms of execution which involved a long, agonizing death struggle) afforded to the citizens of Rome.

St Peter and St Paul is a Grade I listed building which dates back to the 12th century. The oldest feature of the church is a Norman Window in the western face of the tower.

This forms part of National Cycle Network route one, a long distance cycling route based mainly along or near the east coast of the UK.

The Water Rail Way route follows the River Witham from Lincoln to Boston. This traffic-free section runs from Langrick Bridge to Boston town centre. It's part of National Cycle Network Route 1 and features some interesting sculptures along the way.

Heckington Windmill was originally built in 1830. In 1890, the mill was repaired using eight sails, and now claims to be the world's only working 8-sail windmill! The site has a Visitor Centre, Tea Room, Brewery, gardens, onsite bakehouse and museum. Cycle racks are available to park up and secure your bike.

This route runs all the way between Lincoln and Boston as part of National Cycle Route 1. This section alongside the River Witham is lovely!

Heckington Windmill is the only eight-sailed tower windmill still standing in the United Kingdom with its sails intact.
