Nice pub alone the canal

The Trans Pennine Trail is a super good multi-use trail that links the North and Irish Seas via Hornsea to Southport. At 215 miles (346 km), it is a brilliant long trail that traverses the Pennines, travels alongside rivers and canals, as well as going through some of the most charming towns in England. Sprotbrough is one such place, being one of the nicest riverside towns out there with so many attractions such as Sprotbrough Weir, Sprotbrough Flash Nature Reserve, and of course nearby iconic Conisbrough Viaduct.

Bad conditions yesterday, passable just but very muddy

Gets overgrown with brambles and nettles in places but decent bike gets you through

Bridleway that runs almost parallel to Bawtry Road. It's a bit lumpy and rutted at the southern end but gets better, and wider, at the nothern end where it joins up with a number of other farm tracks heading east and west. A good alternative to get off the busy Bawtry Road, providing you've got the right kind of bike (mtb, gravel or a tourer with a wide tyre). The southern end can be a bit tricky in Winter, especially when it's muddy.

Picturesque ride around the lakes

You don't have to carry bike over the water the water gor the first one you can come off earlier through where a fence is brocken and follow the worn track around and down a hill and it brings you out at the other side of the first kissing gate if you follow the road at the second kissing gate and up a path on the right it will bring you out on to field which you can follow along the side of which in turn bring you to the quarry top but it is worth the rock climb to continue the don gorge track.

Can be reached by families and experts very easily most good tracks or tarmac, can be linked into numerous flat cycle routes.Bird and insect watches paradise.

Ok so on the other side of the don, is a lovely cycle way with beautiful paths and gravel. so if you want a leisurely ride take that. This is also technically a walking route.... there are 2 gates that you cant get your bike through, first time you can go near the water and carry your bike round, and the second time you have to carry your bike up a huge pile of boulders and then down again. Buuuuuuuut this was alot of fun, there are some down hill MTB trails, fallen bridges and other ruins. getting out at the otherside was a PAIN, the paths werent where komoot said they where. All in all, would do again.

This is a stretch of 'dutch-stye' surfaced and lit cyclepath that links loversall to the iPort and Amazon distribution centre. At the moment it's linked to muddy, unsurfaced bridleway, so it's great for a recreational rides but, if you're a road rider, the roads that link to it are busy trunk roads. I hope that Doncaster council plan to link this up with other surfaced paths to make it good for commuters to use in the future.

It's a great ride if you want to see the local wildlife
