This picturesque stretch of gravel trail runs along the Northampton Arm of the Grand Union Canal, offering charming views of canal boats and historic bridges to admire along the way.

This bridge spans both the River Nene and the Grand Union Canal on Northampton's southeastern side. The area is surrounded by lush greenery, and they are plenty of connecting cycle paths making it an ideal spot for scenic rides.

Opened on 1st May 1815, the Northampton Arm of the Grand Union Canal includes 17 locks and connects the canal with the River Nene in Northampton.

Great spot to take in the views across Pitsford Arm.

Fairly popular cafe for Salcey Forest walkers and wheelers alike. Plenty of outdoor seating for nice days (or if you're a bit muddy from the forest!) and there's a bike hire centre too. https://groundscafe.uk/salcey/

Traversed this ford numerous times, normally west to east, without problems. Trying to keep the bike straight through the water. However, the other day I was negotiating the ford and the front wheel washed out big-time pretty much as soon as it hit the water. I landed heavily on my right side. Fortunately no lasting damage. Not sure what went wrong - it had been raining a lot and it might have been the quantity of water going over the track or perhaps i didn't keep straight. Anyway please be careful.
