There’s a rock fall just beyond here if you’re heading NW - they have closed the bridleway but there are no signs before the last opportunity to take a detour - i have added pictures of the signs with all the information. I took a detour on bicycle through Brassington. Hopefully the trail should be open by March 6th 2026.

Wet weather ride with plenty of mist.

Woah, this section of the trail has been resurfaced! Lush! Watch out for the cheeky drainage channels though.

Small town in the national park with visitor centre

A grade II* listed stone bridge spans the river and links the village with Darley Dale. The bridge dates back to the 15th century and features two pointed arches, and three semi-circular arches. Close to the bridge, the road winds between terraced stone houses in the oldest part of the village.

The Memorial erected in Youlgreave to the memory of the crew of a Wellington Bomber (RAF No BJ 652) that crashed at Smerrill on 21 January 1944. The plaque was erected in August 1995, on the fiftieth anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Listed on the plaque are the names and ages of the six RAAF crew who died: Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) W. T. Barnes, Flt Sgt F. P. Deshon, Flt Sgt L. G. Edmonds, Flying Officer (FO) K. J.
