The Root Trail "Between the Woods" leads along narrow, sometimes damp paths through a quiet coniferous forest. Roots, small footbridges, and mossy forest edges give this section a particularly natural character.

The Hoxeler Viaduct (also known as "Ennisch Breck") is a truly impressive relic of the Hunsrückquerbahn railway: 8 stone arches, approximately 160 m long and around 42 m high – a perfect photo spot overlooking the Herchenbach valley. 📸 The best views can be found on the "viaduct loop" or along the 10th stage of the Saar-Hunsrück Trail (Erbeskopf → Morbach).

Erbeskopf Trail Park

The circular trail around the Nonnweiler Reservoir offers relaxing nature experiences right by the water. On the well-maintained path, you'll enjoy magnificent views of the lake. Along the way, you'll find numerous places to linger and observe the birdlife. The route is family-friendly and ideal for hiking or cycling.

This weathered stone structure acts like a silent sentinel over the snow-covered Hunsrück Forest. Presumably once part of an ancient defensive or viewing position, it now stands solitary and open on the edge of the Burr Plateau – surrounded by ice, rocks, and gnarled branches. An atmospheric place steeped in history and offering a panoramic view. 💡 Tip 🧭 Approach carefully – on a clear day, the view through the walls opens up deep into the Nahe Valley.
