Lovely pub and wonderful fresh carvery at affordable price. Ideal stopover on a cycle trip.

St Michael the Archangel's Church is a Grade II* listed parish church in the Church of England in Retford, Nottinghamshire, England.

Lovely little cafe with a good menu (especially the breakfast one) and great cakes and coffee. Definitely worth a ride out.

Nice riverside pub with outside seating.

Part of the ride is along the banks of the River Trent. Quiet roads and peaceful.

Gainsborough Town is full of history and definitely worth stopping off at if you have the time. More info about the town: https://www.discovergainsborough.com/visit/ We didn't see the town on this trip and didn't want to go into the town centre so The Trent Port was a great lunch stop for us. Right on our route and food ok. And if like us you find you have a flat tyre, there is plenty of room to fix it.

nice road next to the river trent, if you want to see it you have to stop and climb up a steep nettle lined bank. Lots of pubs with riverside beer gardens though!
