7月 22, 2025, Chester Cathedral
Entrance fee is £5 per person. Allow yourself some time, as the cathedral is very large and complex. Its cloister and courtyard are very beautiful. Inside the church, there was a replica made of Lego bricks, illuminated, and even a detailed interior.

4月 8, 2025, Burton Marshes Boardwalk
Would recommend heading from Wales into England at sunset. Riding into the setting sun in such a tranquil spot

Space for parking and a picnic table. Also toilets! Good walks along the river especially northwards towards Chester.

A good long testing climb in Dengbidhire, Wales. Turning off the B5429, you head south east along a small lane. It is a little rough in places, but the road is quite quiet. The climb is 3 miles long, averaging 5%. In the middle of the climb, there is a steep corner of around 12%, but this gradient doesn’t last long before returning to quite a steady climb up towards Moel Y Waun.

It’s a pretty tough climb popular with cyclists. There are 2 routes to reach the pass. From the west side (from Llanbedr-Dyffryn-Clwyd) the road gains 260 metres (853 feet) in altitude in just 2.25km (1.4 miles), the first half of which is at a gradient approaching 25%, followed by an even-steeper hairpin bend before the gradient finally eases slightly. More than two kilometres in length, the climb is introduced softly but very quickly begins to rise steeply, reaching a fearsome crescendo as it bends left on a huge 25 per cent hairpin. The other route, the east side, has a less severe gradient, but from the summit it is dead-straight for over a mile downhill, which provides an exhilarating descent for cyclists who have struggled up the pass from Llanbedr. Its location also makes it an ideal segment to link up with other climbs in the area, including The Shelf and Horseshoe Pass.
