Nantwich (/ˈnæntwɪtʃ/ NAN-twitch) is a market town. It has among the highest concentrations of listed buildings in England, with notably good examples of Tudor and Georgian architecture. It had a population of 14,045 in 2021 Amazing building its a beautiful place to visit.

Decent little climb no to bad and only around 2-3km surroundings are beautiful god road surface. Take you time and enjoy.

Peckforton Castle is a Victorian country house built in the style of a medieval castle. It stands in woodland at the north end of Peckforton Hills one mile (2 km) northwest of the village of Peckforton, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The house was built in the middle of the 19th century as a family home for John Tollemache, a wealthy Cheshire landowner, estate manager, and member of parliament. It was designed by Anthony Salvin in the Gothic style. During the Second World War it was used as a hostel for physically disabled children.

The Milking Parlour is a great new stopping point. Highlight is the Breakfast Bap and pretty good coffee too.

Great cafe but does get busy so if you riding in a group best to book ahead. Also note it is not open on Sundays.

I had the chance to see the bridge lift ! The pub next to it was great … some years ago but now turned for the worse ( do nit order a cappuccino unless you like tepid milked coffee).

The riverside of Nantwich, presents an enjoyable route that traces alongside the meandering River Weaver and encircles the charming Nantwich Lake. This scenic path is conveniently situated within a short distance from the town's historic centre, allowing easy access. Notably, the riverside area has a saline spring, a pivotal element that feeds the open-air swimming pool.

Nantwich is a hidden gem with lots of old Tudor and Georgian buildings and cafes to stop at, plus lots of roads around the town have been freshly tarmacked.

Flowing roads through what feels like an Alpine forest. Tarmac isn't the best in places but nothing to massively complain about, well worth putting up with for the views and fresh air

Gorgeous route on perfect tarmac. The view of the castle gives good perspective on how far you've gone/still have left to go.

This is a great cycling cafe.

Can't really miss the sight of Peckforton. Not a 'real' castle like Beeston as such, but still impressive

Great cakes and coffee

Lift bridge just outside Wrenbury. If you try really hard you can imagine your in the Netherlands crossing a small canal!
