James the Greater (the Latin 'major' is not translated as 'great' in English), to whom this church in Gawsworth was dedicated, was, together with his brother, part of the inner circle of Jesus' disciples. nice lung buster mid way going up but hate going down this one

A cracking little climb that kicks up at the end 10% Nice road lined with trees well worth a look.

Love the reservoirs at Macclesfield Forest. Great to see the reflections in the water on a calm day.

steep but lovely climb

A nice relatively short climb that gets the legs and lungs going. Road surface has really deteriorated due to all the trees so care needs to be taken on the descent.

Mow Cop Castle sits on the summit of a rocky outcrop / ridge of sandstone grit, rising 355m above sea level, on the Cheshire- Staffordshire border. The ridge itself is great fun to explore and affords magnificent views.

Mow Cop is the southernmost outcrop in Cheshire of hard sandstone grit, rising 355m above sea level. At its highest point stands a mock tower that was built as a summer house in 1754 by Randle Wilbraham, the local Lord of the Manor. This tower is visible for miles around and is a major landmark visited throughout the year. Interestingly, it was the location for the first Primitive Methodist service in 1807.

Amazing 360 views from the summit, which features a trig, toposcope and a rocky outcrop if you fancy a very small scramble for views from the edge.

There is a ban on using drones. I recommend this place anyway, beautiful views 👍📸

There is a lovely pub halfway around the reservoir which makes for a perfect resting spot.

This is a really cool place for a day trip. I recommend.

Lovely little walk in the woods on a nice little hill.

Some nice paths just below The Cloud.

Take a picnic and enjoy the views.

Just to comment that the Wizard pub has closed, but the Wizard cafe which is behind the pub remains open, and is available for recovery drinks and snacks, much needed after climbing Artists Lane.

Lovely little hill to climb and don't miss the funny animal farm on the way down.

A pretty little trig pointed hill near Congleton where everybody in the whole world goes mountain biking I think. Funny little animal farm there too! It is a designated UK Marilyn.

1.8km's @ 5%. Max gradient of 10% towards the end of the climb. A verdent, quieter alternative to the Wizards
