Lovely old church, nice place to take 5, before climbing up the hill.

Not a bad place to stop for a break, refuel just off the main road with big views over the surrounding area, shame there are no longer any planes to watch from RAF Scampton.

The very old Stone Bridge over the river Idle just outside Eaton. A lovely place to stop and have a minute. There are walking trails along the river back to Ordsall. It's very picturesque and quiet at this spot.

This place is really in the middle of nowhere, it's at the junction of Thornhill Lane and Littleborough Road. It can't be missed because there's nutting else there. What makes it special is its unique six sided shape. Definitely a place of note and worth a photo.

Around 0.76mi long with an Elevation Gain of roughly 141ft. The Avg Grade is 3.5% with a max grade of 15%

Torksey Viaduct is closed. I was there on Friday 7th March 2025 and I ended up cycling south on A road to Dunham Bridge and back north to rejoin the route (Lincoln Gravel Imp). Worth stopping for these beautiful murals by Phoebe Traquair

The viaduct creates a link between Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The structure offers fantastic views of the ruined Torksey Castle.

In the centre of the village stands the church of St Margaret. The building is essentially of the Norman Conquest period, built using a mixture of Anglo-Saxon and Norman styles. Much of the work of these periods is still retained. It has an 11th-century tower of herringbone masonry, a Saxon cross shaft set in an outer wall and an ancient carved crucifix within. The tall cross in the churchyard is used as a war memorial and it is thought to be a former Medieval market buttercross.

Called in yesterday, great coffee, lovely setting. Advertised Christmas Market sounds tempting too.

Always a great stop off point! Great selection of meals, plenty of room for the bikes, nice to sit outside when it's warm or inside with a roaring log fire when it's chilly.

Fantastic coffee and cake, it's an old barn that's been converted really well,the food looked great if you have the time. lots of space inside and out for sitting down and plenty of room for cyclists and it's tucked away from the main road.

St Luke's Church, was built in the 15th century and has a Norman west tower with a Perpendicular bell stage and buttresses. The remaining parts of the church were rebuilt between 1770 and 1773.

A railway bridge built in 1849 and designed by John Fowler. This is one of the earliest box girder bridges and is a rare survival.

Great coffee and cake! Nice toilet (not in the cafe) and a kitchen sink to refill bottles. Believe there's a bike shop in the courtyard also

Warning! If you plot a route from Beckhingham across to Bar Road, Komoot will default you onto the cycle path that starts in the central reservation twenty metres down the dual carriageway back into Gainsborough, causing you to either go back round ten miles or jump off the carriageway at speed. Not safe and not clever. Sort this nonsense out, Komoot.

Sustrans plans on extending the route to enable it to be used for cycling in the future. Torksey Viaduct is a rare example of a tubular box bridge, completed more than 150 years ago as part of the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. It is now a footpath across the River Trent linking Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
