Good for road cycling

The village received a Royal Charter in 1254 entitling it to hold a market on Thursdays and an annual three-day fair. A butter cross was built, the base of which survives.

Last time I was down this way the Boat Inn was closed and under renovation (possibly from flood damage?) As of my last visit to the area (25.09.21) the Pub is now open again.

The Ship in along the River Don is closed so we cycled up the hill the this very nice tea room. Coffee and cake are delicious with a great variety and there will be sandwiches and more on the menu shortly

This little cafe on Bentley High Street roasts their own coffee beans and their coffee is really great. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is good and the staff are really friendly. http://www.moonacoffee.com/
