Really picturesque village, grab a coffee at South Cave serviced

Archetypal English village with its large village green surrounded by pretty stone houses and two pubs. The open beck runs in front of the houses in Eastgate, each with their own private bridge. The banks of the stream are planted with flowers. Skidby Mill is a Grade II listed four-sail windmill and is surrounded by its original outbuildings and courtyard. The Museum of East Riding Rural Life is housed in the outbuildings. The Mill is still operational but from January 2022 is undergoing renovations so is not currently milling flour or open to the public. Beverley Minster is one of the largest parish churches in the UK and is a seen as a gothic masterpiece. It is also known as the Parish Church of St John and St Martin. The building as it stands today was completed in the 15th century but there has been a religious site here since 700. St John was buried in the chapel of the saxon church which stood here in the 8th century and the present minster was built around it.

North Newbald is a 'typical' village with a village green and pubs at its centre. Ings Beck flows in front of village houses which makes it even more picturesque. It is a popular place for walkers as the Yorkshire Wolds Way passes nearby. On the village green you will see the Whipping Stone. Legend has it a man was whipped to death here but it is more likely to be the base of the old market cross. Newbald stone was used to build parts of York as well as St Mary's and the Minster in Beverley. The quarry is long since depleted.

Brantingham a quiet village further out of Hull. Triton is a great pub which after a walk through the Welton Dale's can have some home cooked food and is also dog friendly.

Be careful if it's windy as it really blows along here

This climb is great but when you think youre at the end, its turns to the right and the gradient goes up a bit more

Well worth a visit, lots of places to lock your bike up too plus free wifi if you need to check Strava :D

Great downhill into beverley after some stiff wolds climbs.

What could be better than good food at a cycling cafe after your ride? Cafe Velo serves everything from mini eggs cheesecake to full English fry ups. Bradley Wiggins even visited this popular cafe when he participated in the Tour de Yorkshire. Cafe Velo is open from 9am - 4pm Tuesday to Saturday and until 3pm on Sundays.
