You get the best view of it as you descend towards town from the west along the main Runton Road.

The Rising Sun is a lovely riverside pub in Coltishall, which does excellent food, including wood fired Neapolitan pizzas. It also offers bed and breakfast accommodation, offering a pleasant basecamp from which to explore the wider Broads.

Norwich Castle is undergoing major works to restore the floors to their original level of the 12th century so future visitors can truly appreciate what life in the castle was like when it was built. It is still possible to appreciate the royal Norman fortress from the outside.

Norwich Cathedral is over 900 years old with the second tallest spire in England, measuring in at 96m (the tallest is Salisbury). It is mostly a Norman building with some restoration work taking place in the 13th century after it was damaged during riots.

Cromer has a very 'english' seafront, with a victorian pier, esplanade and backed by grand victorian buildings. Both beaches are blue flag and there are plenty of places to eat and drink should you need to fuel before or after your run.

Honing Long Lane is a lovely stretch of straight road bordered by Daffodils on both sides. March / April is likely to be the best time of year to enjoy the view.

Worth a visit inside as more like a cathedral than a church

Built in 1790, Happisburgh Lighthouse is the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia and the only independtly-run lighthouse in the UK. The iconic tower is painted white with three red bands and is 85 feet (26 meters) tall. The light can be seen up to 18 miles (29 km) away. Norwich Cathedral dates back to 1096. It is built from cream-coloured limestone, and took over 50 years to complete. If you have time to visit inside, a 17-metre (56 ft) high helter-skelter has been constructed inside the cathedral, to give a better vantage point for viewing the roof bosses, and a fun way down.

Norwich Castle comprises the castle, a museum and art gallery. The castle site is at least 900 years old but may currently be closed due to redevelopment. The large gallery complex converted from the city’s Victorian prison remains open during the works. It houses collections in archaeology, natural history, regimental history, and fine, decorative and contemporary art. Construction work has begun on the Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn project to transform the medieval castle. Because of the building work and health and safety measures to protect visitors and staff, some areas of the castle site are not open.
