A beautiful Minster, worth a look around

There are only three Greyfriars Towers left in Britain and this is the best preserved, probably because it served as a landmark for traders and sailors after the dissolution of the monastery.

Castle Rising in Norfolk is one of the most famous 13th century castles in the whole of England. The stones used to build the castle were produced around 1140D and are beautifully preserved. One of the largest, best preserved and most lavishly decorated keeps in England, surrounded by 20 acres of mighty earthworks. Building of the castle was begun in 1138 by the Norman lord William d'Albini for his new wife, the widow of Henry I. In the 14th century it became the luxurious residence of Queen Isabella, widow (and alleged murderess) of Edward II. Get inside and climb up to the top. Also walk around the edge of the earthworks surrounding the place: there's a great view.
