Robin Hood was basically a thief

Cycling along the Nottingham Canal through the city offers a great mix of urban and natural scenery. It's traffic-free, well-maintained and easy to navigate. There are lovely places to stop along the way including Castle Wharf and a number of green spaces.

The River Trent flows close to Hoveringham Road, this is a great place for a break to take in the views. If you don't mind a bit of gravel, the Trent Valley Way follows a bridleway along the bank here.

This is a beautiful paved section of path that borders the River Trent just outside Burton Joyce. It has nice uninterrupted views down to the river at this point and joins up with Trent Lane.

I believe a time traveller went back and prevented it

The Legend of Sherwood! You can find spots with realtion to Robin Hood in the whole city.

Lovely beer garden behind the pub, nice for a summers drink

Inn, which claims to be the oldest on the island (tough it does not seem to be alone with the claim). The name together with its believed origin on the coronation year of Richard I. is a great example of British humor.

Nottingham is lifting on the legend of Robin Hood quite heavily. The statue is in front of the castle, Sherwood Forest a bit to the north by car.

Great spot for chips

The bridleway on the way up was unridable in early March 2022, should be good when things dry up a bit. The way down was better, not ideal though.

Very popular with Witham Wheelers and for good reason.

Lovely location on the Trent. Lots of easy, flat, traffic-free roads around here. Regularly use this as a lunch stop on rides in the southern half of the Vale of Belvoir. There is an easy 30 mile loop to Newark and back, going through quiet lanes up one side of the Trent and back down the other. I have used the riverside Unicorn pub as an overnight base for cycle-touring in this area.

Very nice village next to the Trent. Easily accessed by the cycle way. Suitable for all riders.

Located at the entrance to Bleasby caravan site this is a great little refreshment stop. Plenty of out door space and customers can use the caravan site toilet facilities. Open 7 days 9:30-4:00
