Great route along the old railway line seeing station platforms from the past.

This place is really in the middle of nowhere, it's at the junction of Thornhill Lane and Littleborough Road. It can't be missed because there's nutting else there. What makes it special is its unique six sided shape. Definitely a place of note and worth a photo.

Lovely stretch of road to ride with a Westerly.

An excellent cafe stop before or after visiting the historic castle which is not far from here.

Agriculture. The last remaining open field system in the UK.

Cyclist friendly beer stop. Variety of food trucks here in the early evenings too.

Amazing! I wasn't expecting such a castle in the middle of Newark when cycling through.👍 Looks like it would be well worth a visit if you have time.

Combine a visit to the castle with a picnic, watching the Trent roll by. There are lots of quiet lanes approaching from the south.

Newark Castle ruins are set in lovely, formal gardens bordered by the remaining walls of the castle which was partly destroyed in 1646 at the end of the English Civil War.

A gravel track, but a handy crossing of the River Trent.

lovely coffee shop, made for cyclists, bike racks, covered outdoor seating, great coffee and cakes

Great café, plenty of seating inside and when the weather is good plenty of outdoor seating as well. Would definitely recommend coming here.

Very popular with Witham Wheelers and for good reason.

As good as place as any to cross the Trent. Handy for getting into Newark and beyond.
