Part of Cranswick Garden Centre is a really nice cafe that does a good selection of coffees and cakes. They have some bike parking available (some undercover too).

Very bike friendly with bike racks out front. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tea, coffees, soup and cakes. No sandwiches. Open 11am -4pm on Saturdays (as at May 2023).

Lots of benches around the pond, including some under cover. Great place to end a walk and have a picnic or just relax!

The roads around Southburn, Hutton Cranswick and Skerne are wonderfully flat and have an air of Belgium about them. These roads are also on the Way of the Roses. The flat reward for all the hills before now.

An absolutely gorgeous view across the Vale of Pickering to the Howardian Hills and on to the North York Moors and on a good day even the Pennines.

Sledmere House is a Georgian mansion which is open to the public whilst still being inhabited by its current owner, Sr Tatton Sykes (who apparently loves to wear cowboy boots, so keep an eye out for him). The Coach House Cafe and farm shop are before the paypoint for entering the house and gardens so can be enjoyed without having to pay for an admissions ticket. This is a lovely road that snakes through the dale, good to ride either uphill or down. There is farmland either side and it really gives you a sense of how beautiful the Yorkshire Wolds are.

Water Dale is a beautiful place to ride in either direction. Downhill towards Thixendale or up towards Leavening. The road winds along right at the base of the deep sided vale so you really get a feel of the Yorkshire Wolds at its best. Highland Cattle are often grazed here which make a lovely additional sight.

Quiet a nice place to go for a walk/hike. Due to being quiet flat great for a more leisurely stroll. Part of trail around the fields is overgrown so small dogs might not have the best time.
