The longest river in North Rhine-Westphalia. Starting in summer 2026, the first mine water from Haus Aden will be discharged into the river in Bergkamen. This so-called mine water is contaminated by minerals from the rock, but also by substances that entered the depths through mining operations or the backfilling of the shafts. A gigantic mine water treatment plant is intended to minimize these pollutants. (according to RAG)
