This old bridge sits over the remnants of an old regional railway line that used to run to/from Towcester and join up with the Northampton to Bedford line near the Yardley Hastings ammo depot. The tracks themselves are long gone but peering over the sides you can see the remains of the old track bed with trees either side going off into the distance.

A delightfully charming and practical tunnel under the Grand Union Canal which is on an embankment along here. The tunnel was built just wide enough for horses to get through, which accounts for its distinctive shape.

From here it is not far to the Palladian Bridge.

no cycling through the tunnel... but pushable

The magnificent Blisworth Tunnel is the longest on the Grand Union Canal and the third-longest navigable canal tunnel in the UK.

Beautiful little canal village in the west of Northamptonshire.

Woodland walk along the edge of the magnificent Stowe Landscape Gardens. If you have time, you may want to divert into the gardens and explore the many structures and statues here.
