Stop at No2 Pound Street (adjacent to the mini roundabout up the hill) Their main business is a delicatessen specialising in cheese and wine ... but you can grab a tea/cofffee with cake or a toastie, Sit outside or in depending on the weather! Highly recommended. If you've room in your saddlebag, grab a bottle of wine, with some excellent cheese, having taken note of the expert advice from the staff!

Can get very busy, but still a nice ride.

I like to make my way to the nearby Monument Cafe for some tea and cake, or a venison burger. All at reasonable prices. Beautiful scenery for miles around 🚴🏼‍♂️

Two very lovely ladies running the cafe. Shopfront and indoors were very cute. There was not much of a variety of choices to eat for me, as I prefer simple bakery (croissants, carrot cake, flapjack etc.) over pies and creamy cakes.

In dry conditions, this was rideable on a gravel bike, but watch out for tree roots.

I missed the house for some reason, but it is a scenic estate to cycle through, especially the woodland further up.

Steep indeed! I had to hike my bikepacking load up. Note that for some reason, there is a bicycle-incompatible gate between the meadow and woodland incl. a faded "no bicycles" sign although this appears to be a bridleway. In case you're inclined to lift your bike over the electric fence, watch out whether it is connected (wasn't when I did).
