Nice village church

The motorway right besides is quite noise, which disturbs the experience considerably. Also the part closer to the national bowl is a bit shabby. For the rest quite green pseudo-nature, but relaxing by bike.

An effort was made here to create a varied lake with a path around. It is quite nice, but as everywher ein the city the feeling of 'artificial' is quite strong.

A nice find off the A413 is St Nicolas Church in Lillingstone Dayrell. It's easy to miss as it is down a lane; St Nicolas Church in Lillingstone Dayrell is a captivating historical site. This church showcases a blend of architectural styles from the late 11th century to the 19th century, with Norman, 13th-century, and Victorian features. Inside, the church houses the tombs of the Dayrell family, providing a glimpse into local history. The church's serene location, outside the modern village surrounded by countryside in and near Manor Farm, enhances its timeless appeal.

Lodge Lake was created in 1981 to prevent Loughton Brook flooding the downstream area. It now has a park area that is popular as a recreational hub, especially with the Trim Trail that goes around the lake. There is parking nearby, but no toilet.

Great place to run with a mixture of path types some super fast (MK Redways) and some smaller paths. Lots of places to stop to eat, buy food and art installations.

These unique, man-made lakes, formed by the extraction of clay for the nearby potteries, have become a haven for wildlife and make a pleasant passage on your bike

Fairly popular cafe for Salcey Forest walkers and wheelers alike. Plenty of outdoor seating for nice days (or if you're a bit muddy from the forest!) and there's a bike hire centre too. https://groundscafe.uk/salcey/

detour when the ouse is flooded

The church stands at the centre of an Iron Age hillfort. Church Way follows the curve of the eastern rampart, you can see the western rampart running through the field. Good views from here.

The Grand Union Canal was formed to link London, the Nottinghamshire Derbyshire coalfields, and Birmingham under single ownership. The main line of this canal was the Grand Junction Canal (Braunston to Brentford). This was authorised in 1793. It provided a more direct route to London than the existing route of the Oxford Canal and the Thames.

The Iron Trunk (aka Cosgrove Aqueduct) is a navigable cast iron trough aqueduct that carries the Grand Union Canal over the River Great Ouse at Milton Keynes. Formed of two cast iron trough spans, with a single central masonry pier, it is the world's first wide canal cast iron trough aqueduct.

The Teardrop Lakes are an important part of the city’s lake system, able to take storm waters to prevent flooding of housing areas. They also provide valuable leisure facilities for the city’s residents. The variety of habitats, including dense reed-beds, makes the lakes an excellent spot to enjoy wildlife in a beautiful surrounding.

This iconic 200 year old canal runs from London to Birmingham crossing straight through the Chiltern Hills thus linking two of the UK's biggest cities. It is an awesome place to come to hike or run or just on a family day out.

Now a Forge Coffee shop, great place and very friendly for cyclists too.

A lovely character stretch with views of the Great Ouse and through Passingham with character cottages and a church

Quick pit-stop to gawk at the Iron Trunk Aqueduct that carries the Grand Union Canal over the River Great Ouse. The paths leading up to and beyond the aqueduct are flat, paved, and run along the riverside.
