The church was built as a stone structure at the end of the 8th century under the bishops of Passau. In the 18th century, the Gothic church fell victim to fire twice. Due to the great poverty and hardship, reconstruction was only carried out in a simple manner. Extensions and several renovations followed until the present parish church was built. The late Baroque church with Gothic elements was restored in 1987 and boasts a remarkable interior. Key details about the church: The church tower, including the tower cross, is 48 meters high.
