Moss is a historic harbour town on the eastern shore of the Oslofjord, long known for its shipbuilding and paper industry. Today it mixes maritime heritage with a lively cultural scene, offering galleries, cafés and a waterfront that buzzes with ferries crossing to Horten.

Not for cycle tourists, path not rideable. No water

The pizza alone is worth a stop! I had the "Interrail" pizza with ham, rocket, parmesan and olive oil for 200 krone. It was huge. I can only recommend it.

Nice harbour town with several cafes and shops to resupply on the road

Very nice cafe, I can highly recommend it. Not only are the homemade pizzas very good, but there are books to read and games to play in case the weather is bad and you have to spend a longer time there :-)

However, nothing for cyclists (!), because it goes over a very uneven, rocky path. Couldn't even try. But definitely nice to walk :) Not suited for bike packers(!) as it's only reachable via a rocky, uneven path. Couldn't even give it a try. Probably still nice on foot :)

Either you come over the old railroad bridge, or down into the valley, the stop at Hølen is worthwhile. Enjoying the river and good food is a good reason for the stop.

Garder kirke is a long church from 1881 in Vestby Municipality. The building is made of wood and has 175 seats. The altarpiece was painted by Christen Brun based on Adolph Tidemand's altarpiece Christ in Heaven (Tyristrand kirke). There was already a church here in the Middle Ages, but its appearance is unknown. The oldest wooden church was probably built in the early 17th century.
