In Hamar, you can walk from one beach to the next. Martodden alone has several sandy beaches. Trees provide shade.

The old Franzefoss Lime Kilns stand as striking stone towers beside the trail, a reminder of Norway’s 19th-century lime industry. It’s a short but worthwhile stop to admire the preserved kilns and learn how limestone was once burned here for building materials.

Stange Church is located in the rolling agricultural landscape near Mjøsa lake. It's worth a break to admire the historic architecture and the beautiful garden around the church.

Cycling between Tangen and Hamar, you can have a break here. There is a picnic table just along the road, and you can enjoy a nice view over Mjøsa lake.

Interesting idea to protect the ruins with a Louvre-like glass building. Worth seeing from the outside, but admission is far too expensive.
