This extraordinary rock is a geological peculiarity. A rocky outcrop several meters wide in steps with a round opening on the side. The midnight sun can also be seen through it, if you are there at the right time of year.

The Children of the World Monument consists of seven large circular reliefs arranged in a semicircle. Opposite them stands a sculptural group of a mother and boy, who points toward the reliefs with his left arm. The monument was erected in 1989. The models for the seven reliefs were created by seven children of different nations who gathered here for a week. The monument is intended to represent friendship, cooperation, hope, and joy across all borders.

The templates for the seven reliefs were made in June 1988 by seven children from different nations who came together here for a week. The children were Jasmin from Tanzania, Rafael from Brazil, Ayumi from Japan, Sithidej from Thailand, Gloria from Italy, Anton from the Soviet Union and Louise from the USA.
