Lake Bernissart is an artificial pond with an area of 10 hectares, surrounded by wooded areas and wasteland. Created as part of local mining activities, the site is today recognized for its ecological richness, sheltering a diverse fauna and flora, notably rare ornithological and odonatological species.

The Bon-Secours woods, located astride the Franco-Belgian border in the Péruwelz region, is an important historical and ecological site. In the Middle Ages, it served as a refuge and a place of battle. The wood was divided between several lordships in the 18th century before becoming public property after the First World War. Today, the Bon-Secours woods are recognized for their remarkable biodiversity, particularly in terms of avifauna and herpetofauna, and are classified as a site of great biological interest. The site is home to the Forest Stopover, an interpretation and leisure center which offers educational and sensory activities for the whole family, such as barefoot walks and discovery trails of the fauna and flora.

Bon-Secours is a picturesque village located on the border between Belgium and France, and is part of the commune of Péruwelz in Wallonia. The main attraction of the village is the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours, a Marian pilgrimage center built in the 19th century.
