the first industrial buildings built in the Trapperie area were built over 400 years ago. It was Herman Trappé, former mayor of Liège, who was given permission to build a factory in the course of the Rulles, a tributary on the right bank of the Semois. You should know that in the 16th century, the Rulles Valley was a boon for those who wanted to develop an industrial activity: it brought wood and water. Wood as a fuel essential for the production of iron and water for the hydraulic energy it could provide. Five factories were built with only a few kilometers in between. And for more than 200 years, the region was a real industrial center at the origin of elsewhere on the development of the two Habays and of this entire Rulles Valley. The factory pond is a natural space in the village of Orvault. It owes its name to the old lime (lemon) factory that stood right next to it and has now been converted into accommodation. This place is a small natural oasis in the center of Orvault, a stone's throw from the town hall and the church of Saint-Léger.
