Superb Art Nouveau houses

A very beautiful old market hall now serves as a museum. An old market, which had existed here since 1802, was adorned with an obelisk fountain taken from the Grimberg Abbey. It found its place in the center of the square, where it can still be found today, but inside the hall. In 1870, the area was redesigned, and in 1880, the hall opened in its current form. In 1973, a wholesale market was built on the site, and the building began to decline until it was declared a historic monument in 1987.

The depiction of the comic character is a reflection of the comic series created by Marini and Desberg, and is an example of the new Belgian comic school. They also created the comic "Billy the Cat."
