A truly impressive place.

A very beautiful old market hall now serves as a museum. An old market, which had existed here since 1802, was adorned with an obelisk fountain taken from the Grimberg Abbey. It found its place in the center of the square, where it can still be found today, but inside the hall. In 1870, the area was redesigned, and in 1880, the hall opened in its current form. In 1973, a wholesale market was built on the site, and the building began to decline until it was declared a historic monument in 1987.

I was pleasantly surprised here: a former road through the forest is now a paradise for cyclists and pedestrians. I can't imagine cars there.👍🙏😜🚴

Unexpectedly, you come across this cruise terminal in the middle of the industrial canal zone - a fitting reminder that Brussels has a real sea canal.

A few kilometers from the city center, here it is still quiet. The view looks industrial but still quite green.
