La Pietra needs no further comment. Whether you're a hiker, mountaineer, or just a tourist, go there. You'll find a unique and fascinating place for both adults and children. If you venture to the summit and aren't experienced with mountain trails, wear suitable footwear (shoes will do) and be careful around children. If you look at some photos, you'll understand the potential danger once you reach the summit. Stay away from exposed areas and enjoy the view...

Pietra di Bismantova is a characteristic and imposing isolated rock bastion, very conspicuous even from afar in the gentler surrounding Apennine landscape of Reggio. It is a large platform with a flat and oblique summit, with woods and meadows and very panoramic edges with vertical cliffs.

The climb to the Pietra should not be taken lightly, in some sections the stony surface is very loose so you have to be willing to portage, even if for a short time, furthermore starting from Castelnuovo nei Monti the difference in altitude is notable in relation to the distance. Castelnovo ne' Monti is a municipality in Emilia-Romagna, located in the Reggio Emilia Apennines. It is known for its history, but above all for the Bismantova Stone, a characteristic rock formation visible from the entire surrounding area with a sanctuary on the top which is a few kilometers from here.
