In the stretch of the city street that connects the monumental Arch of Augustus with the Tiberius Bridge, the elegant Piazza Cavour opens up. In it rise Palazzo dell'Arengo, with the tower of the same name, and Palazzo del Podestà. For centuries designated to house the administrative bodies of public power, today they appear in their solemn mass, with a medieval style. Born in Cesena but raised as a child in Cesenatico, Marco Pantani has been the most loved Italian cyclist of the last fifty years. Who died prematurely at the age of 34, the champion from Romagna is remembered here with a statue. A plaque recalls that «with his unforgettable exploits in the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France he made millions of fans dream».
