The Bacchiglione River, with its sinuous 119 kilometers, crosses the Po Valley offering a quiet route immersed in nature, perfect for walking or cycling. One of the main waterways in the provinces of Vicenza and Padua, its name could derive from the dialect term 'bacaliare', which recalls the chatter of the Vicenza springs.

The back gate was open because there had been a celebration the night before. The cleanup must have been a real challenge :-) It's interesting to see the courtyard come alive again. A great backdrop, a building you can't miss. Beautifully integrated into the landscape, look at this castle on the Bacchiglione River. It's a worthwhile destination for a tour; it's definitely worth a detour!

A very beautiful section of this route along the Bacchiglione. Dedicated bike paths, no traffic, beautiful scenery, and very easy to cycle! The bench there invites you to linger. It's a lovely place for a short, relaxing break.

A beautiful setting at Castello San Martino. A great classic along the Bacchiglione river. Perfect for a picnic break, there is also water.

Great bike/hiking trail along the river. A great bridge opens up a view of a beautiful river basin. Just beautiful to look at.
