Starting from Morez, the climb is steep in parts but easier than the slog from Nyon. The scenery? Stunning all the way, especially crossing from France into Switzerland at La Cure. In March, the top (1232m) was deep in snow and freezing, so be prepared. Then it’s all downhill.. literally, through Saint-Cergue and into a twisty, brake-testing descent to Nyon, where it was warm enough for a T-shirt. One ride, two countries, skipping through seasons.

Exceptional view of the lake and the mountains at Rolle. You can also admire the beautiful Rolle Castle - a medieval fortress built in the 13th century.

On the shores of Lake Geneva, the town of Nyon stands out for its views of the vast expanse of water, with the Chablais Alpine massif as a backdrop. It is particularly known for its beautiful castle which today houses the historical and porcelain museum.

Very pretty fountain in the center of the village of Bassins. Last water point before the climb via the Montagne route. If the fountain doesn't flow, don't panic, there is a tap against the right wall (see photo).
