If you want to ride the official cycle path, you can expect a 1 km long climb with a 10% gradient in places. Alternatively, you can simply drive straight ahead. It's bumpy along the original railway embankment, so you shouldn't move a bike to ride the route for the first time.

The renovation of the castle tower has been ongoing since 2023 and the tower can be climbed again (2 € fee). The climb over 129 spiral steps is always worth it; you will be rewarded by very informative displays about the history in the newly installed tower head and a wonderful view of the town of Oelsnitz and the surrounding area. Signs on prominent landscape locations point the way.
