Pedaling through the streets of Sabbioneta is like pedaling in a Renaissance painting. It is no coincidence that this small and perfect Lombard city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. A jewel of Italian architectural history that is worth visiting.

Inserted together with Mantua in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites since 2008, Sabbioneta was built in about thirty-five years by order of Prince Vespasiano Gonzaga. The city is a perfect example of the application of Renaissance theories in the field of urban planning and the design of an ideal city: buildings of historical and artistic interest still bear witness to this today, as do the sumptuous examples of figurative art in Renaissance style which they bear the signature of important authors from the Lombardy and Emilian areas and from the Venetian school.

The walled city of Sabbioneta was born to put into reality the concept of the Renaissance "ideal city". The village, of great architectural, artistic and historical value, hosts sumptuous palaces and harmonic alleys. Since 2008 it has been included among the Italian Unesco sites.

This plant is located in the Municipality of Gazzuolo and was built to carry out the drainage work dating back to the early years of the last century. It is managed by the Consorzio di Bonifica Navarolo.

Beautiful but decadent. I stopped for a great sandwich at the entrance to the Bar Stazione. Always open from morning to evening. It was definitely busy at lunchtime.

Sabbioneta needs no introduction, already a UNESCO heritage site since 2008. A relatively recent village, it was founded around 1555 at the behest of Vespasiano Gonzaga, with administrative autonomy. It was initially a "small state" located between the Duchy of Milan (then under Spanish domination) and the Gonzaga Duchy of Mantua.
