Located on the outskirts of Saignelégier, going in, try some of their magnificent brews which have won awards from all of the world. This oasis of drink and food provides great refreshment for tire legs which have been pedaling or hiking all day.

The last small hill to climb before reaching sagnelégier and the magnificent well-known brewery Brasserie Franches Montages which seems to a magnet for cyclists traveling in the area. A fresh cold beer awaits you there.

The cycling path from Tramelan to Saignelégier is on both separate cycleways and on the main highway. The asphalted surface on the roads and cycleways to Saignelégier are ih excellent condition.

Once reaching the top of the climb, there is life after the climb at the BFM (Brasserie Franche Montagne). This small but magnificent brewery has won many accolades worldwide wide for their beers. It is great to sit out on the terrace of the brewery on a hot summer‘s day, sit back, enjoy a nice cold beer „Alex le Rouge“ which will not only quench your thirst but pump some life back into your tired legs.

The route between Moutier and Delémont is a beautiful route, with mainly decent asphalted surface but there are some places near the industrial areas where the asphalt is a bit rough but overall good a surface. Geological speaking it offers a lot of unusual rock formations creating nice backgrounds for photos. The route and following the River Birse which flows all the way to Basel.

Imposing grotto and at the same time a place of pilgrimage. Here you should switch from the hiking trail near the bridge to the road and pause for a moment and enjoy the gentle coolness and refresh yourself with the water from the Karlsquelle (which is said to have healing powers). A small karst spring arises inside the cave. The water flows as a trickle from a stalagmite into a shallow basin. There is a crucifix under the entrance arch of the grotto, dedicated to Saint Columba of Sens, a 3rd century martyr. The place has been the destination of a pilgrimage on August 15th since the 13th century. The spring water is said to have miraculous healing powers.
