Fantastic tour

I don't know who suggested this route which is only 3.5 km long, from the Mongiove junction (SS113) to Locanda di Tindari (SS113); but it does not include the most beautiful stretch, that from Locanda to Tindari, 1,200 m of which 800 are challenging, but fantastic. The route ends in the Piazza del Santuario from where you can admire, looking out from the balcony, the famous Marinello lakes. It can also still continue from the same square to the west where there are archaeological excavations, including a Greek / Roman theater. However, the route is incomplete for other reasons: the departure should take place at least from the Patti seafront, west of Tindari, or from the Oliveri or Falcone seafront, east side; on the contrary, the east side is more beautiful as a climb. All this by bike. but the climb can also be done on foot starting, on the east side, from the Marinello Village (we are always in the municipality of Patti) or from the nearby Oliveri seafront; the path is entirely unpaved, it is the Code di Volpe path which in about 4 km overcomes a difference in height of about 250 m and ends at 50 m from the Piazza del Santuario. You cannot miss a visit to the Sanctuary of the famous Black Madonna of Tindari "Nigra sum sed formosa"
