A dilemma: as a building it's magnificent, but I find its purpose questionable... I would value a university or library more.

Catania's Pescheria is the city's ancient fish market. Now a tourist attraction, it remains the place where locals stock up on their catch. Surrounding it are a wide variety of restaurants and bars, which are very popular even in the evenings.

In the city center of Catania stands the church dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, and the square in front of it also bears his name. The piazza is dominated by a monument, which, however, is not, as one might initially assume, dedicated to Italy's most popular saint—perhaps along with Padre Pio. The statue seen here depicts Blessed Giuseppe Cardinal DUSMET (1818 to 1894, beatified in 1988). He spent his life, shaped by the Catholic faith, as a Benedictine monk, became abbot of several monasteries, later Archbishop of Catania, and finally received the dignity of cardinal. In the calendar of saints, his feast day is September 25.

The Cathedral of Sant'Agata in Catania is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Catania, a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church belonging to the ecclesiastical region of Sicily. The cathedral is located on the east side of Piazza Duomo and is dedicated to Saint Agatha, the patron saint of Catania.

To observe the composite architecture with blocks from various eras and, obviously, to visit the tomb of Sant'Agata in the right side nave.

Patron saint of Militello is the SS. Savior. The celebration with the procession of the simulacrum through the streets of the town is on August 18th. For the octave a shorter procession is planned in front of the Mother Church

May 8th is the feast of the two patron saints of Grammichele: St. Michael the Archangel and St. Catherine of Alexandria. During the festival, the simulacra are carried in procession through the streets of the town together with the statue of the Madonna that precedes them.
