Bivouac on the western side of Etna, with spectacular views both in front (of the Sicilian hinterland) and behind the refuge itself (of Etna, the central crater). A fireplace and two beds, and plenty of firewood in the woodshed. One of the most beautiful Etna refuges. Equipped with a cistern to collect rainwater.

The Piscitello lava flow cave has an easy-to-access entrance. The 786 trail that leads to the Piscitello cave is in some places impassable by bike due to the presence of some sections on the 1669 lava flow that are really heavy due to the presence of large moving stones and some "steps" along the path.
