The Stella Maris church was built on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Porto Cervo in the 60s by the architect Michele Busiri Vici. The facade has a porch supported by six monoliths, the bell tower has a conical shape with a very wide base, while at the top there is an iron cross. The church can be considered a masterpiece of modern architecture. The details of the building are very impressive, such as the windows with decorative frames and the floor with granite “slices”. Well worth a stop by if you're riding nearby in Olbia, these ruins of a Roman aqueduct and underground storage tank are fascinating. The aqueduct would have carried water from the mount of Cabu Abbas into the city, built between the first and second century AC.
