Beautiful ride along two large rivers in the Province of Vicenza, the Brenta and the Astico, crossing the large forage fields to the northeast of Vicenza, crossed by a vast network of waterways and irrigation canals and dotted with numerous springs where the waters that come from the Vicenza Mountains return to the surface. Many places where you can taste the typical products of the place and many observation points of the wildlife that lives in the river areas. Ideal route for Gravel bikes and MTB but also very feasible with City bike type bicycles as long as they are equipped with off-road tires.

Villa Contarini-Camerini stands in Piazzola sul Brenta (PD) on the remains of an ancient castle built by the Dente family around the year 1000. The villa hosts concerts and cultural events as well as being offered as an ideal place for conferences, meetings and public and private receptions.

In the picturesque Veneto countryside, on the southern outskirts of Vicenza, rises Villa Rotonda, or simply called La Rotonda. Bishop Almerico Capra, a high official at the court of Pope Pius IV and Pius V, had the villa built. He wanted to enjoy his retirement undisturbed and far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the posturing of power and the intrigues at court. Palladio, the master of Renaissance architecture, designed and built La Rotonda, the most famous of his villas, from 1566 to 1569. Scamozzi completed the construction in 1591, after Palladio's death. (Unfortunately always closed at the moment: renovation.)

Located west of the Brenta, the Brenta Cycle Path passes this lake. A good place to cool off. Rather more of a gravel than an MTB highlight.

Villa Contarini has a unique history of its kind, made up of alterations and abandonments. The first building was built on the remains of a castle dating back to the year one thousand and until the middle of the sixteenth century it remained a fortified structure. Purchased by the Contarini family, it was rebuilt as a rustic residence perhaps following a project by Palladio. However, it was the subsequent interventions, commissioned by Marco Contarini, procurator of San Marco, that determined the current appearance. A period of abandonment followed which lasted until the mid-1800s when the complex was bought by the Camerini family, who restored the building and finished it following the stylistic dictates of the time. The English garden dates back to the same period. The villa was abandoned again after World War II and it was only in the 1970s that, thanks to the interest and work of Giordano Ghirardi, new restoration works began to open this architectural treasure to the public. In 2005 Villa Contarini was purchased by the Veneto region.

On the positive side: The route is certainly worth it given that you are immersed in nature, you cross various quarries and run along the entire embankment called "The Caribbean". Also recommended for family outings. On the negative: Still too many assholes abandoning waste and another negative note, many unsafe trees and branches that risk falling on someone
