Located in the square of Porto Recanati, the castle of medieval origins takes its name from Frederick II, King of Swabia, who in 1229 donated the lands on which the municipality of Recanati stands. It was built in the 13th century with the function of protecting the coast of Recanati from the incursions of Pirates and in particular the Turks.

The Cathedral of San Leopardo in Osimo, built in the 8th century on an ancient pagan temple, is dedicated to the first bishop of the city. Although the exterior visible from the square is the left side, the entire facade is revealed only by entering the courtyard. Under the main altar, the crypt houses the remains of San Leopardo and the first Christian martyrs. Inside, a wooden crucifix from the 11th-12th century is preserved, known for its particular crucifixion with four nails and an unusual skirt. The crucifix is linked to a miracle in 1796, when it is said to have opened its eyes and moved its lips.

Ok for mountain bikes, very technical for gravel. Towards the network, raised singletrack with very large stones, further down towards the sea many accumulations of gravel

Definitely not able to go through here on a fully loaded tourer. Some sections are deep stoney beach. I turned back and used the road instead, much better option!
