Posted in Salento Fortifications collection https://www.komoot.it/collection/1396951/-salento-fortificazioni - The fortified complex is known as "Il Torrione", with a square tower, probably from the Frederick period, which was the main stronghold of defensive system, on which the subsequent fortification structures and then the city walls were built. The complex is located at the west end of the town. In addition to the square tower, the building is characterized by a round corner tower, a low and square turret of uncertain function, and a curtain placed between the round tower and the turret.
