Worth a visit. Small and surrounded by olive trees.

Serra San Bruno is worth a visit. Its historic center, full of characteristic churches, the tree-lined avenue leading to the Certosa, and last but not least, the Hermitage of San Bruno, where you can enjoy the cool, tranquil atmosphere, especially during the week. There's also a stream, a cool path, and tables where you can rest under the trees, perhaps enjoying a bite to eat.

Today's outing took us to Laureana di Borrello, a small town in the Piana di Gioia Tauro whose name, according to an ancient popular belief, derives from the presence of a giant laurel. The origins should date back to around the 9th and 10th centuries, when the populations of the unhealthy coastal areas, which had become excessively insecure due to the increasingly frequent Saracen raids, moved inland in search of safer and healthier lands.

The beach of Nicotera Marina is one of the most beautiful on the Costa degli Dei, located in the gulf of the same name and composed mainly of fine white sand. The seabed of this stretch of sea is shallow and allows safe bathing even for the little ones.

The climb from Palmi to Monte Sant' Elia can be strenuous even in late October, but the view of the coast and the Aeolian Islands in the distance justifies the effort, at least in good weather. On the way back you can choose a slightly longer detour that leads back to Palmi below the mountain. You can commute to the train station by bus (no guarantee :-))

Almost 600 meters above sea level and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Monte Sant'Elia is a splendid panoramic point reachable by asphalt. From here you have a great view of Palmi and the Gioia Tauro plain, as well as the splendid Calabrian coast. It is part of the Aspromonte, of which it is a western offshoot.

Simply spectacular. If you are in the area, absolutely, a must do. Regular climb, excellent asphalt, spectacular views.
